Insurance & Protection
Every Trivo rental includes the legally required Third-Party Liability Insurance and Basic Collision Damage Waiver. You may keep the included Basic Protection or choose Gold or Platinum Protection during booking to reduce your financial responsibility and add further benefits.
This page explains the protection packages offered with Trivo rentals, the applicable excess and security deposit, roadside assistance, accident requirements, and important exclusions. The protection selected in your booking confirmation and Rental Agreement will apply to your rental.
Important: Protection packages are damage-waiver products linked to the rental and do not replace the official motor insurance policy. Coverage remains subject to the Rental Agreement, the police report requirement, and the exclusions below.

Basic Protection is included in the standard rental price and provides essential legal and collision protection.
What Basic Protection includes:
Basic excess and deposit
Maximum excess
USD 700
Up to USD 700 per covered incident.
Security deposit
USD 700
The deposit is a temporary security hold and is not the same as the rental payment. It may be used toward documented amounts owed under the Rental Agreement, including damage, traffic fines, fuel, cleaning, towing, missing items, or other contractual charges.
Basic Protection does not include:
Gold Protection is designed for renters who want a lower financial responsibility and additional protection for common rental risks.
What Gold Protection includes:
Gold excess and deposit
Reduced excess
USD 290
Per covered incident.
Security deposit
USD 140
Held at pickup and released after return and inspection, subject to known charges. Bank processing time may vary.
The Jordanian-dinar excess stated in the Rental Agreement is the controlling amount. Any US-dollar equivalent is approximate and may vary with the exchange rate.
Gold Protection does not include:
Platinum Protection provides Trivo’s highest level of protection for renters who want the simplest pickup experience and the lowest financial responsibility for covered incidents.
What Platinum Protection includes:
Excess
Zero
Security deposit
None
Zero Excess does not mean unlimited coverage. Platinum remains subject to the Rental Agreement, prohibited-use rules, police-report requirement, and all listed exclusions. The renter remains responsible for traffic fines and any amount arising from excluded or unlawful use.
Excess
The excess is the maximum amount the renter may be required to pay for each covered incident, provided the selected protection remains valid and all accident procedures are followed. Separate incidents may result in separate excess amounts.
Security deposit
The security deposit is a temporary hold placed on the renter’s approved payment method. It is not automatically a charge. The release is initiated after the vehicle is returned, inspected, and any known amounts are cleared.
Banks and card providers control when a released hold becomes visible in the customer’s available balance. Trivo is not responsible for additional processing time imposed by the customer’s bank.
Post-rental charges
Traffic fines or other documented charges may become known after the vehicle has been returned. The renter authorises Trivo to collect amounts due under the Rental Agreement from the registered payment method, including traffic fines, parking violations, damage, fuel, cleaning, towing, missing equipment, and applicable administrative charges.
All Trivo protection packages include access to 24/7 roadside support and emergency coordination. Platinum customers receive VIP priority coordination.
Mechanical fault not caused by the renter
If the vehicle develops a mechanical fault that is not caused by misuse, negligence, an accident, or the renter, Trivo will arrange assistance, repair, or a replacement vehicle as soon as reasonably possible. Replacement vehicles remain subject to availability.
Customer-caused roadside events
Roadside support does not automatically make every service, part, or towing cost free. Unless expressly included in the selected package, the renter remains responsible for costs arising from:
Always contact Trivo before arranging repair, towing, tyre replacement, or roadside service.
A police report is mandatory. Even with Platinum Protection, the renter must report an accident and obtain the official police accident report, commonly called a Kroka. Without the required report, protection may become invalid and the renter may be responsible for the full loss.
In the event of an accident, theft, attempted theft, collision, or vehicle damage:
Basic, Gold, and Platinum Protection become void or do not cover loss arising from the following situations:
Driving conditions that commonly lead to an excluded claim are explained in our driving in Jordan guide.
Tyre and Windshield Protection
Where included, this protection applies to accidental damage within the limits confirmed in the booking. It does not cover deliberate damage, off-road use, continued driving on a flat tyre, missing items, or damage caused by prohibited or negligent use.
Interior Protection
Where included with Platinum, interior protection applies only to accidental damage within the stated policy limits. It does not cover smoking, burns, excessive dirt, sand, stains, pet damage, missing items, deliberate damage, or cleaning charges unless specifically confirmed in writing.
Theft Protection
Where included, theft protection requires immediate police notification, an official report, return of all vehicle keys, and proof that reasonable security measures were taken. Theft caused or facilitated by negligence may not be covered.
Personal Accident Protection
Where included, Personal Accident Protection is subject to the terms, limits, beneficiaries, and exclusions of the applicable insurance policy. It is not a substitute for personal travel or medical insurance.
Excess, deposits, roadside assistance, and police-report questions are also answered in our full FAQ, alongside booking, payment, and cancellation questions.
